Our institute started its glorious history in 1876 from the Nautical Classes opened in Rostov-on-Don at the initiative of the Don Region Community and today it represents a modern educational center and the branch of the largest in the South of Russia Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University.
Water transport in Russia is an advanced and dynamically developing branch of the economy. Personnel on the most popular and top-requested sea-going specialities both for sea and river vessels, as well as shore-based professionals are trained in our Institute.
While training, cadets and students have their shipboard training in Russian and foreign companies, ship repair yards and ports. They also have march drills, keep watch, do sports and gain skills and experience needed for hard merchant fleet service.
2 libraries, 2 assembly halls, 2 museums as well as sport sections and an amateur-talent group are suggested to our cadets in their free time.
Training is carried out both on a budgetary and commercial basis. Young ladies as well as youth also study at the Institute including on sea-going specialities. The quality of education in our Institute provides our graduates with interesting and well paid job and confidence in the future.
