SECONDARY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION


The following training programs for specialists with secondary professional education are implemented in the Institute.

26.02.03 “Navigation”

26.02.05 “Operation of the ship’s power plants”

26.02.06 “Operation of the ship’s electrical equipment and automatic control systems”

26.02.03 “Navigation”

Cadets study:

  • Safety of life on board and transport safety, navigation, navigational hydrometeorology and Admiralty sailing directions, legal basis of profession, ship’s construction, technology of shipping, ship’s handling and technical navigational aids.
  • Educational Certificate - qualification “Technical navigator”.
  • Sea certificate of competency - “Officer in charge of the navigational watch”.
  • River certificate of competency - “Third mate”.
  • During studies cadets also get the certificate of proficiency “Rating forming part of a navigational watch”.
Positions to be applied for:
Graduates have an opportunity to apply for the position of the officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships and positions from the Third Officer to the Chief Officer on ships of inland waterways.

26.02.05 “Operation of the ship’s power plants”

Cadets study:

  • Safety of life on board and transport safety, engineering drawing, materials science, mechanics, ship’s construction, thermodynamics and heat transmission, basic operation, routine maintenance and repairs to the ship’s power plants.
  • Educational Certificate –qualification “Technician of ships machinery plants”.
  • Sea certificate of competency - “Officer in charge of the engineering watch”.
  • River certificate of competency - “Third engineer officer”.
  • During studies cadets also get the certificate of proficiency “Rating forming part of an engine-room watch”.
Positions to be applied for:
Graduates have the opportunity to apply for the position of the officer in charge of the engineering watch, the Second engineer officer and the Chief engineer officer on ships powered by the main propulsion machinery of not less than 3000 kW propulsion power and the position of the Third engineer officer up to the Chief engineer officer on ships of inland waterways.

26.02.06 “Operation of the ship’s electrical equipment and automatic control systems”

Cadets study:

  • Mechanics, electronics and marine electrotechnology, materials science, metrology and standardization, design features and operation of ship’s electrical equipment and automatic control engineering devices, ship’s construction, operation and repair to the electric machinery, electric power systems and electric drives, electrical systems of automation and control.
  • Educational Certificate - qualification “Electro-technical officer”.
  • Sea certificate of competency - “Electro-technical officer”.
  • River certificate of competency - “Third electro-technical officer”.
  • During studies cadets also get the certificate of proficiency “Rating forming part of an engine-room watch”.
Positions to be applied for:
Graduates have the opportunity to apply for the position of the Electro-technical officer on ships and the position of the Third electro-technical officer up to the Electro-technical officer on ships of inland waterways.
